This vase was inspired by a photo I took on Cape Cod, near where I live, of cormorants sitting on an old dock.    The black dock and cormorants are drawn by hand and painted with black underglaze.  I achieved the highly-textured background with colored slips and stains, applied through monoprinting.   May it bring you pleasant memories of summers at the beach.  

I only use glazes and clays that are food safe and lead free.
